WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL (WDC)Nalbari College formed in 2020, is an obligatory body, constituted as per UGC guidelines of section 3.2(15).The Cell works with the aim of creating a congenial and appropriate environment that nurtures women’s well-being and promotes gender equality. It is inclined towards women’s rights and empowerment, raising awareness among both students and faculty members, acting as a backup platform against a presumed rigid society.The cell attempts to produce a sensitized environment where women can showcase their confidence and productivity in every aspect of college activities from official to student’s affairs. The cell works for the upliftment of the women community not only within the campus, but also in and around the college premises, taking up activities to attenuate the deprived section. The cell has been actively engaged in organizing different programs on female health, legal awareness, female literacy, women empowerment,skill based training workshops for womenand so on. With the objective of creating healthy stimuli among all members of the college, the Cell tries to promote active participation of both the genders in every activity, inducing mutual respect and trust. The Women’s Development Cell,NCfunctions to empower, support and dignify women in various societal context. Considering the fact that gender equality forms an integral part of Sustainable Development Goal amongst various others, the Cell of the College strives to move forward with the objective of supporting and working for the prosperity of women.
